CCCME Successfully Held New York Trade and Investment Environment Seminar

    China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export for Machinery and Electronic Products (CCCME), the Chinese Secretariat of China Provinces and US California Joint Working Group, led a trade delegation to visit US New York from May 8-10, for promoting Sino-US economic and trade cooperation and strengthening economic communications between Chinese and American enterprises.

Under the Support of the Economic and Commercial Section of the Consulate General of China in New York, New York Empire State Development (ESD), and China General Chamber of Commerce-U.S.A., CCCME successfully organized the Seminar on New York Trade and Investment Environment held on Monday, May 11 in New York City. Over 70 attendees participated in the seminar, including CCCME Vice President Liu Chun, Economic and Commercial Counselor Zhou Shanqing of the Consulate General in New York, Executive Vice President Jeffrey S. Nordhaus of Innovation & Broadband, Empire State Development, Senior Specialist Melissa A. Hill, and fellow Li Yamei of Zhejiang Commerce Department, Vice President Ye Meng of China General Chamber of Commerce-U.S.A., and Vice President Xu Haifeng from Bank of China.

   CCCME Vice President Liu Chun congratulated on the establishment of CHINESE PROVINCES and NEW YORK STATE JOINT WORKING GROUP in April, the seventh of its kind at the local levels between the world's top two economies. As the Chinese Secretariat of Chinese Provinces and US California and Michigan State Joint Working Group, CCCME, based on its rich experience accumulated over the past three years, sincerely hopes to work with its US counterpart NYCEDC to acquire more knowledge on New York business environment and its trade policies, thus promoting the exchanges of China and US enterprises in key sectors stated in the MOU, such as machinery, environmental protection, infrastructure, finance and e-commerce.

   Counselor Zhou Shanqing pointed out that Sino-US bilateral trade at present is developed in a sound and stable way. The delegation led by CCCME demonstrated the constructive role of China Provinces and US States Joint Working Group mechanism in expanding trade and economic cooperation for both US and China enterprises.

    Speakers from ESD and China General Chamber of Commerce respectively gave presentations on New York policies and environment for trade and investment, and experience sharing on successful investment in US. CCCME also organized the delegation to visit some law firm for legal consultation on several issues, such as investment and merger, real estate development, and etc.

Since April, 2013, 7 Joint Working Groups have on trade and investment promotion have been established, covering 25 members of Chinese provinces and 7 American states, namely, California, Chicago, Iowa, Texas, Michigan, Washington, and New York. CCCME, as the Chinese Secretariat of China Provinces and US California and Michigan Joint Working Group achieved delightful results, through working with the US Secretariat of other JWG.
